There are already rumors about the successor to the Huawei Mate 8 smartphone which was just launched few months ago. According to one of the latest’s rumors coming out of China, the Huawei Mate 9 will be powered by the homegrown, and yet to be announced Kirin 960 chipset with octa-core CPU.
In addition to the SoC, it was also revealed that the rear camera of the Mate 9 will be a 20MP dual camera. This newly released Huawei P9 and P9 plus from the same Chinese manufacturers Huawei however have a dual 12MP.
It is not yet known however if like the P9 duo, Leica will have any role to play in the Mate 9 as well. It is expected that the device will be official sometime later this year.
