There is a prototype Motorola flagship phone presently listed on the Geekbench online database. With this listing, we should be expecting the Motorola Moto X 2016 flagship as this means it is already in development.
This prototype is the Motorola XT1650 and it is likely the model number of the successor to Motorola’s Moto X Style/ Moto X Pure Edition released last year.
The handset will be running the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and will have 4GB of RAM. It will also be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC which should be expected of a high-end smartphone.
The scores it received is not too different to what has been seen on other handsets powered by the Snapdragon 820 SoC. There are already rumors that the phone could become official as early as June 9, at an event that’s already been confirmed by Lenovo’s CEO. It wont be surprising if the phone is launched with the Android N, as Google is reportedly working on the release its new OS iteration sooner this year.
